Black Rock was our first campground in Connecticut and we really liked it. It is a well maintained state campground with good sized campsites.
We have a special memory from Black Rock. We were woken up by a loud noise early in the morning and stepped outside the tent to see a hot air balloon landing in the parking lot.
The passengers cheerfully wished everyone a good morning as they descended. About three-quarters of the campground came out to watch the landing—it was around 6:30 a.m.!
An unforgettable and unique camping moment.
