We first discovered Decathlon in Quebec, Canada, and it quickly became one of our go-to spots for outdoor gear. Founded in France, it’s actually the world’s largest sporting goods retailer—but what really sold us was the mix of quality and great prices. You can get US delivery from their website.
One of the best deals we’ve found is their Quechua day packs. They come in 10L, 20L, and 30L sizes, and they’re priced at about $1 per liter. The basic 10L version—no water bottle holder, —goes for $6. We use them for hiking, school, work, little league… they hold up surprisingly well.
We’ve also picked up larger backpacks, duffle bags, rain jackets, winter coats, hats, gloves and other gear from them over the years.
Prices are consistently good, and when they run sales, it’s even better.
